Both dies were cut in 1867 and sold to J.W. Kline in 1872. The dies were sold in a June 2008 Heritage auction for $1314.
Bolen struck 14 examples in Copper. Kline also struck a few examples in this metal. It is fairly easy to tell the restrikes from the originals. The originals are 2.2 to 3.0 mm thick. The restrikes are only 1.5 to 2.0 mm in thickness.
An Uncirculated Bolen struck example sold for $518 in a January 2011 auction of the Q. D. Bowers collection, lot 6627.
