JAB-27 JACKSON/THE STERN SOLDIER Tin #2
25mm - 3 struck by Bolen
Both dies were cut in 1867 and sold to J.W. Kline in 1872. They are currently in the ANS collection.

Bolen struck 3 examples in Tin. Kline also struck a few examples in this metal. It is fairly easy to tell the restrikes from the originals. The originals are 2.2 to 3.0 mm thick. The restrikes are only 1.5 to 2.0 mm in thickness.

This NGC MS-61 graded piece was purchased on EBAY in 2014 and appears to be a thick Bolen strike, although it is tough to tell in the NGC holder. It is one of only five examples I have seen offered for sale in the past 30 years.
