Both dies were cut in 1867 and traded to J.W. Kline in 1872.  It is not known whether the dies still exist.

The reverse legend is from Washington's Farewell Address issued on September 17, 1796.  He did not deliver the address in public.

Bolen struck 16 examples in Copper.  Kline struck an unknown number in this metal.  It is easy to tell the Kline restrikes from the Bolen originals.  The Kline strikes are only 1.5 to 2.0 mm thick.  The Bolen pieces range from 2.25 to 3.0mm in thickness.

A Choice Uncirculated example sold for $489 in the January 2011 Stacks sale, lot 6615.
