JAB-08 CONFEDERATION SMALL STAR CENT Brass
27mm - Believed to be Unique

Dies engraved in 1863. They were sold to Dr. Edwards, who issued restrikes and sold them as genuine examples. After Edward's death, the dies passed to Edward Cogan, who sold them back to Bolen. Bolen claims to have destroyed them to prevent further restrikes from being issued.

This is the third colonial fascimile issued by Bolen. The stars are a bit smaller and the rays a bit longer than those of JAB-7. The legend on the obverse translates "America Hostile to Tyrants". Bolen copies can be distinguished from originals by his secret mark, a small dot in the Y of TYRANNIS.

The above example was sold for $1020 in a November 2018 Heritage auction, lot 15510. It is graded NGC Unc-details and is the only example I have seen offered for sale.
