1866 JUBBULPORE EXHIBITION Specimen by W. Wyon British India BRONZE SPECIMEN medal commemorating the JUBBULPORE EXHIBITION 1866 bronze medal struck at the Calcutta Mint 140 years ago. Obverse is by William Wyon and reverse by R.A. Stokes and J. L. Diameter is 43mm and edge is plain. (Number 866.2 in Medals of British India-Volume 1). Rare with SPECIMEN stamped over Wyon's name. * Obverse: Diademed Wyon head of Queen Victoria, left. Around border: VICTORIA D: G: BRIT: REG: FID: DEF: (Victoria, by the grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith). An ornamental spray below neckline. Just below neck an incuse SPECIMEN is impressed. The bump on the Queen's neck is a standard die flaw found on this medal.
